Crack Shack to be replaced…with yet another Chicken Shop Chain
A new era of fiery flavors is set to dawn in Utah as Crack Shack, renowned for its delectable fried chicken and saucy sandwiches, prepares to bid farewell to the state. A few weeks back, we reported that it was closing.
In a somewhat predictable development, all Crack Shack locations in Utah will undergo a transformation into Houston TX Hot Chicken, a fast-casual hot chicken concept originating from Las Vegas. This culinary transition stems from a recent investment by Savory Restaurant Fund in Houston TX Hot Chicken, announced earlier on in the month.
The Crack Shack locations in Salt Lake City’s 9th and 9th neighborhood, Riverton, Lehi, Murray, and St. George will gracefully close their doors and embrace the new brand identity. Houston TX Hot Chicken’s menu tantalizes taste buds with an array of hot chicken sandwiches, tenders, loaded fries, milkshakes, and refreshing beer. The brand already boasts a presence in Utah with its existing Lehi establishment, and whether the newly transformed locations will retain the iconic giant rooster out front remains to be seen.
For fans of fried chicken, this change may not mean a whole lot as it’s being replaced like-for-like. However, if Salt Lake City locals expected something vastly different, then they may be disappointed.
