Bellpine, the latest dining addition to Portland’s soon-to-open Ritz-Carlton hotel, had the potential to be many things. However, with its location on the 20th floor offering expansive views of Mount Hood, it was clear that it needed to be exceptional. This vision was further realized by bringing onboard head chef Pedro Almeida, known for his work with several Michelin-starred establishments.

Set to have its grand debut on Tuesday, Oct. 31, Bellpine is among the most eagerly awaited restaurant launches in Portland for 2023 and is arguably one of the city’s boldest in recent times. So far, only artwork concepts have been released showing the insides of the restaurant, as the location has been kept under wraps for a considerable amount of time. The venue will also include a bar which again will follow a luxury theme.

Chef Almeida expressed that apart from embracing a new culinary challenge, Portland’s renowned beer scene was a significant attraction for him. The culinary team is crafting a contemporary American menu, with the dining ambiance influenced by the Oregon Coast’s unique tidepools and rock structures. Overall, it will be interesting to see if this works and whether it can find a place in a city that is famous for its casual dining scene and love of food trucks.

Bellpine is all set to welcome patrons on Tuesday, Oct. 31, situated on the 20th floor of the new Ritz-Carlton hotel in downtown Portland, located at 812 S.W. Washington St.
