Chipotle Mexican Grill is set to open its first establishment in downtown Detroit by the coming spring season. As per Annie Gradinger, the spokesperson for the chain, this restaurant will be situated at 630 Woodward Ave., Suite 620, taking up space within a building owned by Bedrock, conveniently located in the same block as Shake Shack.

This new establishment will provide both dine-in and a convenient walk-up window option, catering to digital order pickups. Chipotle already boasts 55 restaurants across Michigan, with one situated in Detroit near Radnor Street and Mack Avenue, in close proximity to the city of Grosse Pointe. The initial report on this upcoming downtown Detroit location was disclosed by Crain’s Detroit Business.

In terms of employment opportunities, Gradinger mentioned that each restaurant typically employs an average of 25 individuals. These employees can enjoy a range of benefits, including bonuses, the chance to earn an additional month’s worth of pay annually, access to a debt-free college degree program, English as a second language support, and access to mental healthcare services.

The news of a new Chipotle in the city comes days after it was revealed a new rooftop bar would also be coming to downtown Detroit as well. This shows that the city is certainly on the up and is having a lot of new investment pumped into it.
