Single Boston parking space listed for sale – And it will cost you $425,000

Over the past few years, parking spaces in Boston have risen rapidly in price. Gone are the days when you could buy a garage spot for a few thousand dollars, as they are now being sold for tens of thousands. While this obscure part of the economy may not appeal to everyone, it seems that it can be a lucrative earner for those who possess a garage in a desirable part of the city. Having said this, a recently added listing on Zillow seems to be way off in terms of its pricing.

Located on Beacon St between Exeter and Fairfield St, this garage is listed for a staggering $425,000. That is not a typo either. According to the listing, it has 12-foot ceilings and can currently fit one car. It claims that a lift could be fitted to store two cars at once while electric charging is also an option. It goes without saying that installing these would further add to the cost, especially when it comes to putting a lift into a garage.

Even by Boston standards, this car spot seems to be on another level and it costs more than many homes in the city. Based on this, you wouldn’t expect this space to sell unless it went under a significant price cut. Nonetheless, it still serves as an example of the growing economy of Bostonian car spaces that are often increasing in value.
