Bath & Body Works permanently closes as Enfield Square Mall continues to struggle

January 10, 2024 by No Comments

Bath & Body Works has officially closed its Enfield Mall location. This was confirmed by an image showing its shutters permanently closed and a sign on the venue. Over the years, this shop had become a staple of the mall and was one of its longest-serving occupants in recent times. As a result, this closure arguably acts as yet another nail in the coffin as the Enfield Mall continues to struggle amidst a changing retail climate.

The sign read as follows: ‘This location is now closed – thank you for your support over the years! Come visit us at our new location at 25 Hazard Avenue in the Enfield Commons – Opening January 26th.’ Based on this, it looks as though Bath & Body Works are not quitting Connecticut altogether but have simply pulled out of Enfield Mall.

News of the closure was first reported on Reddit after a passerby managed to photograph the aforementioned image. Founded in 1990, with over 1,700 stores worldwide, Bath & Body Works has become a staple in malls and shopping centers, offering a diverse selection of lotions, body wash, hand soaps, fragrances, candles, and more.

The Enfield Square Mall in Connecticut first opened its doors to shoppers way back in 1971. Today, the Enfield Square Mall has significantly declined as a local shopping destination, while the number of stores has changed over the years reflecting its decline.
