Yet another coffee shop is set to open in Astoria. Located on Steinway and 30th, Moka & Co. will occupy the location previously hosted by Radioshack some years ago. For those familiar with this spot, you will know that it is quite a large space. Because of this, it looks as though Moka & Co. will be one of the larger coffee shops in the area.

News of the impending opening was confirmed by the photo below which shows the shop is still a work in process. Although the signage is up, the picture shows a workman doing renovations on the interior. Unfortunately, there isn’t a set opening date and as the shop windows are covered, you can’t see how much progress has been made on the inside.

According to the small sign, this is set to sell Yemeni coffee which is known as some of the best in the world due to the way it is brewed. Typically, the coffee beans are cultivated in a specific climate and soil, which gives them a distinct flavor profile. Yemeni coffee is typically described as having a full body, with notes of dark chocolate, fruit, and spice. Interestingly, this isn’t the first Yemeni coffee spot in Astoria either. Not to be confused with Mokafe (located at 25-73 Steinway), it looks as though this is a separate venture.
