Craft Beer Cellar announces impending closure due to financial issues

Popular Washington, DC brewery Craft Beer Cellar has announced that it will be permanently closing on January 9th. This was first made public via a lengthy Instagram post that explained the emotional decision in great detail. Like many restaurants, bars, and breweries across the USA, it turns out that Craft Beer Cellar had been struggling with financial issues which was the main reason for its closure.

Speaking on Instagram, their account wrote: ‘It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that Craft Beer Cellar DC will be closing on 01/09/2024. I arrived at this difficult decision after serious deliberation. The reality is that looking towards the future, financial projections made it more sensible to close than remain open.’

The statement also revealed the final days of its operation which are as follows: Saturday, January 6: 10 am – 9 pm, Sunday, January 7: 12-6 pm, Monday, January 8: 10 am – 8 pm, Tuesday, January 9, 10 am – 8 pm. As well as this, the remaining beer will be sold at 10% off in an effort to sell out before its final closure.

Craft Beer Cellar first opened its doors on August 6th, 2016, making it a staple of the Washington, DC beer scene for nearly eight years. It quickly gained a loyal following among beer enthusiasts for its impressive selection of craft beers and knowledgeable staff and it quickly established itself as the premier craft beer store in the District.
