For those wondering, the most expensive dish in Tucson has been found. This is the Cochinillo Asado at the Contigo Latin Kitchen restaurant which is based at 3770 E Sunrise Dr. Over the years, this eatery has earned a stellar reputation as one of Tucson’s more upscale, fine dining establishments. As a result, it’s not too surprising given the context. Nonetheless, even by their standards, this is still a very expensive dish.

Described as a ‘whole roast pig served with sides of vegetables, beans, and potatoes’, the Cochnillo Asado is priced at an eye-watering $475.00. Subsequently, customers can order half of the dish which is priced at $260.00.

On the one hand, sourcing, storing, and serving an entire pig will undoubtedly come at a high price. Nonetheless, it still seems incredibly steep for what is on offer.

Typically, eating out in Tucson can range from affordable to luxurious, depending on your preferences and budget. Fast food meals typically cost around $5-10, while casual dining restaurants can cost $10-20, and fine dining establishments can be upwards of $20-50 or more for a meal. With this said, this meal certainly isn’t the norm and is definitely well-deserving of its somewhat controversial title. For everyone else, there’s always Denny’s!
