Over the past few weeks, dead birds have been found across various areas of New Orleans. These birds are without visible wounds and right now, there are no answers as to why this bizarre phenomenon is happening throughout the city.

News of the strange occurrence was first posted on a Reddit thread by a saddened local who said this: ‘I bagged 26 of these guys in a week. They were all in perfectly good condition, with no injuries. One goose was dying on the banks, all he could do was blink at me. I did call LDWF to ask if they had someone to help me put him down, nope. They do not have the staff. A biologist friend came and dispatched him as gently as possible,’ which was accompanied by a picture of several dead birds.

Sadly, this doesn’t seem like an isolated incident either. Responding to these morbid claims, other residents also confirmed sightings of dead birds. These included various, differing species and were not confined to only one breed.

There may be some good news though, as one local claimed that the Waterway Eco Team was monitoring the situation. So far, people have assumed that it may be avian flu that is the cause, however, this has yet to be confirmed. As a result, this strange scenario has brought up more questions than it has answers.
