Following New Year’s Eve celebrations, the Florida-based bar chain World of Beer regrettably announced the permanent closure of its Mass Avenue location in Indianapolis. A notice affixed to the establishment’s door informed patrons of the closure. As a result, World of Beer no longer maintains a presence within Indianapolis or the state of Indiana. For discerning customers seeking the craft beverage offerings previously available at the Mass Avenue location, the closest remaining World of Beer is now situated in Louisville, Kentucky.

News of the closure was also mentioned on their Instagram page which said: ‘We have made the difficult decision to close WOB Indianapolis. We have so much love for the Indianapolis community – we want to thank our regulars, loyalty members, and our team members who made this location so special.’

World of Beer first opened its Indianapolis location over 5 years ago and quickly became a popular destination for beer enthusiasts and locals alike. As well as serving over 100 types of beers it also served food such as chicken wings and burgers.

According to the note left on the premises, the reason for closing was based on the pandemic and subsequent economic downturn proved to be too much for the business to overcome, leading to its permanent closure. At this point in time, it is not known what will happen with the future of the location.
