Popular Restaurant to permanently close due to financial problems

Effective immediately, JBGB’s, a cherished establishment in Charles Village, Baltimore, will cease operations. This difficult decision, announced on the establishment’s Facebook page on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024, was necessitated by unforeseen financial circumstances.

In a heartfelt statement, JBGB’s expressed their deep sorrow at the closure, saying: ‘It is with heavy hearts that we announce today that we will be closing JBGB’s restaurant permanently. We are proud of the experience and product we provided these last two years and we gave it our all to be a proper neighborhood restaurant to the community. We set out to make the best pizza in Baltimore and provide high end but affordable food to all, and we believe we did that. Unfortunately, we are unable to maintain service under current financial circumstances and have had to make the very hard decision to close.’

Their closure was also displayed on a note left on the restaurant’s front door.

To allow patrons a final opportunity to bid farewell, JBGB’s sister restaurant, The Butcher and the ‘Wich, will remain open through the end of the week. John Brown General and Butchery in Cockeysville will continue to serve guests as usual.

JBGB’s closure marks a somber loss for the Charles Village community. The establishment, lauded for its welcoming atmosphere and delectable fare, served as a gathering place and a cherished local business.
