Popular Bar & Grill announces closure of Avon location
Following the recent closures of its Canton and Dayton locations, Melt, the Cleveland-based restaurant chain, has announced the shuttering of its Avon branch. The establishment is located at 35546 Detroit Rd. within The Market complex, ceased operations this week.
With this decision, Melt’s full-service restaurant portfolio reduces to five, marking a significant shift from its peak operating several years ago. Owner Matt Fish and his partners attributed this evolution to a strategic refocusing on the core of Melt’s identity.
Moving forward, Melt’s focus will be on a renewed commitment to its founding principles. This includes the introduction of a brand-new menu featuring the first-ever inclusion of wraps, alongside the revitalization of beloved classic sandwiches and starters, such as the Parmageddon, Melt Reuben, Patty Melt, and Melt Pierogi. A dedicated dessert section will also debut as part of this strategic revitalization. Whether this works remains to be seen but from the outside, it looks as though this once vibrant chain is now struggling.
From classic grilled cheese sandwiches with American cheese and tomato soup to more adventurous options like the ‘Parmageddon,’ made with fried pierogis and kielbasa, Melt’s menu is sure to satisfy any cheese lover’s cravings. In addition to their famous grilled cheese sandwiches, Melt also offers a range of appetizers, salads, and sides, as well as a selection of craft beers and cocktails.
