Popular Lexington Smash Burger restaurant to close after just 3 years of business
Lexington’s Distillery District eatery, Kismet at The Burl, announces its impending closure. Established in June 2020 amidst the pandemic’s challenges, the restaurant will bid farewell on January 21st, 2024, after three fulfilling years of operation.
Kismet at The Burl distinguished itself with a curated menu, offering both delectable staples like the Basic B double patty burger and kismet fries, and unexpected delights like charred broccoli grilled cheese, fried bologna, and drunken udon noodles. Their sweet selection of hot donuts provided the perfect finishing touch.
News of the closure was announced on its Instagram page which read: ‘Man what a ride. It has been three beautiful years, but unfortunately we have decided that it is time for us to move on from that little red window. We appreciate the love and support over the last few years.’
This announcement was met with sadness and appreciation from Lexington residents, with hundreds of them liking the post in support. Here, some even went as far as to claim that their smash burgers were the best in the city. As part of their closing statement, The Burl also hinted that their venue would be replaced by another eatery sooner rather than later. With this said, it may be the end for The Burl but this location may have a new food stall within weeks.
