New Indian egg-based restaurant to open in notorious Birmingham location
Birmingham’s vibrant Five Points South is set to embrace a unique culinary experience with the forthcoming arrival of Eggholic, an Indian street food restaurant specializing in creative egg-centric dishes. This Alabama debut marks a fresh chapter for the established brand, boasting over a dozen locations nationwide and several more anticipated in the coming year.
Currently in the planning and construction phase, this exciting addition to Birmingham’s culinary landscape is slated to open its doors in 2024. Established in Chicago in 2018, Eggholic has captured the hearts (and stomachs) of diners across the country with its authentic Indian street food offerings. Their repertoire includes traditional curries, vegetarian dishes, flavorful sandwiches, and delectable street fare. Specifically, these include the likes of Samosa Chaat, Paneer Gotalo, and Anda Masala.
Having said this, the location for Eggholic is infamous within the city. Previously this was home to Waffle House and before that, Johnny Rockets. Even further back, the venue hosted Joe Bar for those old enough. To make matters even more urgent, there is also a rival Indian restaurant that is literally within walking distance.
Currently, there is no set date for its opening. However, it is listed as ‘coming soon’ on its website. The above poster also hints that this eatery will be on its way soon.
