For some Philadelphia residents, the end of 2023 was a frustrating one. This is because an image of a badly parked car went viral for all the wrong reasons. Even by Philly’s questionable parking standards, this truck took it to a whole new level in terms of selfishness.

Here, the car in question was literally parked in the middle of a crosswalk with no driver in sight. It goes without saying that this is not only inconsiderate to other car drivers but also incredibly dangerous for people trying to safely navigate the crosswalk. To make matters even worse, there were nearby sidewalks which would have provided more convenient, safer forms of parking.

News of the badly parked car was first posted on Reddit which gained over 200 comments. Here, many of the users furiously condemned the parking and couldn’t believe its brazen act. As mentioned, this doesn’t help Philadelphia’s reputation for driving while simultaneously harming that of truck drivers too. Typically, Philly residents are advised to call the PPA radio room when occurrences like this happen.

This can lead to ticketing or even towing in severe cases. Historically, the city’s dense population, limited street parking, and permit-only zones can make it difficult for visitors to park their cars. Nonetheless, there is no excuse for this behavior.
