Urban Parc Restaurant closes after just 8 months of business

Following a brief eight-month tenure, Urban Parc, a multifaceted dining and entertainment concept within Birmingham’s Five Points South district, announced its impending closure on December 28, 2023. The establishment, originally launched in April 2023 by restaurateur Draper Mason, encompassed a refined dining experience, a retro arcade, a rooftop bar, and an array of additional amenities. Notably, its location at 1006 20th Street South previously housed two ephemeral ventures: The HIVE and The Woolworth.

News of their closure was mentioned in a Facebook announcement. Here they wrote: ‘It is with great sadness that we must announce the official closure of our business on Sunday, December 31, 2023. We sincerely thank our patrons for their loyal support and confidence in our business. As we approach our final days, we remain committed to ensuring our remaining time is as pleasant as possible. We would be delighted to see you again to say goodbye and thank you in person.’

Unfortunately, the restaurant failed to elaborate on why they were closing. However, as this spot is notorious for closures, it is not too surprising. During its 8-month tenure, Urban Parc was marketed as an upscale eatery which gained positive reviews from locals. At this moment in time, it is not known what will be replacing the establishment.
