A new sweet spot has opened in Over-the-Rhine with the grand opening of Cora’s Cakery on December 30th. Helmed by local baker Shaucuana Knight, the bakery celebrates both family legacy and community inclusion through meticulously crafted desserts and a welcoming atmosphere.

Cora’s Cakery offers a delectable array of custom cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, cookies, and birthday cakes with Knight’s signature banana pudding and cinnamon rolls gracing the menu on special occasions. Inspired by her grandmother, Cora, for whom the bakery is named, Knight honed her passion for baking from a young age. Based on the images on the official website, it looks like her years of baking have paid off too, as some of these cakes look delicious.

In a commitment to inclusivity, Cora’s Cakery has applied to accept EBT benefits, aiming to become the first small bakery in Over-the-Rhine to do so. Currently, there are an estimated 30 bakeries in Cincinnati.

Beyond exquisite confections, the bakery extends its offerings with catering services, baking classes, and unique, resealable cake and hot cocoa mixes prepared from scratch and free from preservatives. Cora’s Cakery welcomes visitors Tuesday through Saturday, operating from 10 am to 6 pm, inviting every resident to experience the sweetness of community and a slice of tradition.
