Tens of thousands of birds flock over Galloway in mystifying yet eerie sight
Yesterday, one lucky Columbus resident managed to capture a truly breathtaking phenomenon. Here, literally, tens of thousands of birds flew together over the Galloway skies. This was captured on video and went viral which isn’t surprising due to it being such a mystifying, visual experience.
The video was compared to the iconic Alfred Hitchcock movie The Birds. Here, various users commented on the sight and how incredible it was. This isn’t a typical everyday experience and is described as a murmuration which has to do with the noise that the mass of birds can make when moving together. The birds in question were starlings which are known to behave this way.
