Quirky Brewery to close after 6 years of business

After six years of brewing innovative and acclaimed craft beers, Humble’s Ingenious Brewing Company announced today that it will cease operations permanently during the first week of January 2024.

Founded in 2017 by Justin Gyorfi, a distinguished urologist, and Mike Broderick, a master home brewer and native Pennsylvanian, Ingenious Brewing established itself as a beloved local brewpub specializing in small-batch, expertly crafted beers, with a particular focus on stouts and IPAs.

The Houston brewery announced the closure yesterday on their Instagram page, writing: ‘It is with a heavy heart that today we have to announce the upcoming closure of our dear brewery. As many of you are aware, COVID-19 and the consequential economic/sociologic changes have been brutal to craft beer industry; we were no exception.’

Following its licensing approval by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission in 2017 and subsequent renewal in August 2023, Ingenious Brewing opened its doors to the public in 2018, quickly developing a dedicated following for its unique and flavorful brews.

Unfortunately, the ongoing financial challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic have ultimately proven insurmountable for the company. While Ingenious Brewing has valiantly navigated these obstacles for several years, the cumulative effect has ultimately led to this difficult decision.

As a final farewell, the Ingenious Brewing taproom will remain open to the public through January 6, 2024.
