Connecticut’s first Raising Cane’s to open within months

Raising Cane’s, the popular chicken finger chain hailing from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has confirmed its official entry into the Connecticut market with its first location slated to open in Enfield on February 13, 2024. Situated at 90 Elm Street near the Enfield Square Mall, the restaurant will introduce Connecticut residents to its signature menu of freshly prepared fried chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, and Texas toast, all accompanied by the famous Cane’s sauce, whose recipe remains a carefully guarded secret.

This Enfield opening marks the first step in Raising Cane’s broader New England expansion strategy. Additionally, the company has secured approval for a second location in Simsbury, Connecticut, at 530 Bushy Hill Road, and is actively exploring a potential third site in Milford at 1455 Boston Post Road, with a petition for a change in zoning currently under consideration by the Planning and Zoning Board.

This Connecticut expansion joins Raising Cane’s existing New England presence, which includes four restaurants in Massachusetts and an upcoming location in Johnston, Rhode Island, scheduled to open on January 17, 2024.

Raising Cane’s arrival strengthens Connecticut’s burgeoning fried chicken sector, already well-represented by local hot chicken brands like Haven Hot Chicken. With plans to open two additional outlets in Middletown and Newington in 2024, Haven Hot Chicken continues its own impressive growth trajectory within the state.
