New Bagel shop opening soon in Pasadena
A new bagel shop called Manhattan Bread & Bagel is apparently ‘opening soon’ in Pasadena. This was spotted in a recent photograph that was based on Holly in Old Town. It is believed that the name may be a reference to Manhattan Beach but it also could be a nod to Manhattan in New York which is known to be the US capital for bagels.
While Goldstein’s is known as one of Pasadena’s best bagel shops, there aren’t too many around Old Town so this may be a welcome addition to the area. Unfortunately, there is no information surrounding the opening of this store other than the aforementioned poster. Nonetheless, you would assume that by saying ‘opening soon’ it would be arriving within the early months of next year.
The history of bagels is an intriguing tale that spans centuries and continents. Originating in 17th century Poland, bagels were created by Jewish bakers as a way to celebrate special occasions. Since then, they have taken the US by storm. Despite this, bagel culture on the West Coast is still on the rise. Based on this, it looks as though Manhattan Bagels may be a welcome addition to Pasadena and will hopefully be here sooner rather than later.
