Beloved Pizza Joint Announces Shock Closure
One of Chattanooga’s most popular pizzerias has just announced that it has closed. This news was put out yesterday by Lookout Mountain Pizza Company on their Facebook page. Here, they wrote: ‘We regret to inform you that LMPC will not reopen after our holiday break. It has been a pleasure serving you with our Wood Fired Pizzas over the years. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and loyalty. Once again, we sincerely thank you for your patronage and for being a part of our pizzeria’s journey. We will always cherish the memories created and the relationships formed during our time in business.’
Despite the emotional statement, LMPC did not mention why it closed, which could be due to money or personal reasons. Responding to this statement, hundreds of Chattanoogans gave their condolences. This isn’t too surprising, considering it was often viewed as one of the best pizza joints in the city.
Established in 2017 by Chris Stone, a pilot for American Airlines, Lookout Mountain Pizza Company has quickly became a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The pizzas are cooked in a wood-fired oven, giving them a crispy crust and a delicious smoky flavor. In addition to their delicious pizzas, Lookout Mountain Pizza Company also offers beer and wine.
