New Jamaican Restaurant opens – And you may have heard of it before
Pimento Jamaican Kitchen & Rum Bar, the beloved Caribbean eatery, is expanding its reach to the heart of St. Paul with the soft opening of its new location at 354 Wabasha St. N. this weekend. This marks the restaurant’s fourth establishment, following Pimento on Lake at the Bde Maka Ska Pavilion, Pimento Market at the Bde Maka Ska Pavilion, and Pimento Jamaican Kitchen & Rum Bar in Minneapolis. It also previously operated out of Keg & Case Market in St. Paul.
The new downtown St. Paul outpost will offer a taste of authentic Jamaican cuisine and lively ambiance, starting with a soft opening this Friday, December 15th from 9 PM to 2 AM and Saturday, December 16th from 10 PM to 2 AM. Live music from DJs will set the mood for both nights, and a steel drum performance will bring the Caribbean vibes on Saturday from 4 PM to 6:30 PM.
Regular operating hours will commence on Monday, December 18th, with extended evening hours on Fridays and Saturdays. From Monday to Thursday, Pimento Jamaican Kitchen & Rum Bar will be open from 11 AM to 10 PM, while on Fridays and Saturdays, it will stay open from 11 AM to 2 AM. On Sundays, patrons can enjoy the flavors of Jamaica from 11 AM to 9 PM.
The new location, formerly occupied by Taco Libre and American Burger Bar, has been transformed into a vibrant space that reflects the essence of Pimento’s Caribbean spirit. A self-serve beer wall will be a unique feature, allowing guests to indulge in a variety of craft beers, including Pimento’s signature Rum Punch cocktail.
Pimento’s menu features a tantalizing selection of Jamaican favorites, including braised oxtail, Kingston-style jerk chicken, coconut rice and beans, coco bread, and sweet fried plantains. Whether you’re craving a hearty meal or a casual snack, Pimento has something to tantalize your taste buds.
