After a successful tenure as a popular food truck, Bake’n Bacon has finally found a permanent home in the heart of South Philadelphia. The restaurant, helmed by Black chefs Justin Coleman and Kelvin Alexander, is now open for a soft launch at 1148 S. 11th Street, with a grand opening set for Thursday, December 14th.

The spacious 2,500-square-foot restaurant seats 86 diners and boasts a dining room, a full-service bar, and an upcoming private space upstairs. The menu features an array of delectable dishes centered around the star ingredient – bacon.

Diners can indulge in their signature pork board, various loaded mac dishes, bacon-centric entrées like the hang’n bacon, bacon brisket burger, and pound cake with bacon caramel sauce, chicken bowtie pasta, brisket burnt ends, and more. For those who miss their food truck favorites, the menu includes a dedicated section featuring their food truck favorites (bacon brisket, bacon pesto sandwich, bacon trio, and more). Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options are also available to cater to a wide range of preferences.

The full-service bar is temporarily BYOB until the liquor license is officially granted, but the mocktail bar is already serving up refreshing mocktails to quench your thirst. Once the full bar opens, patrons can enjoy an extensive selection of wines, beers, and festive cocktails, including the Sparrow (a rye whiskey cocktail honoring Coleman’s deceased younger brother Derek, who inspired the restaurant), the 22-23 (made with silver rum, French orange liqueur, macadamia orgeat, peach oleo, lime), the 2019 (made with blanco tequila, French orange liqueur, smoked bacon sea salt rim), and more.
