Austin locals shocked as robot couriers used to deliver noodles around city
If you’ve been around Mueller lately, you may have seen a small, white robot wandering around. This is not a gimmick, nor is it some kind of robot takeover either. Instead, it is a sign that the future is now. In short, this is also known as a robocourier and is used to deliver noodles around the local area.
In this case, they are used to deliver noodles for the local restaurant Xian. However, they can also be used to deliver other food types as well for other eateries. News of the robocourier was spread on Reddit after a user managed to snap one in action.
Here, one user claimed that these were operated remotely by humans, which would explain how they manage to get around so effectively. These robots may be on the rise too, as they are financially efficient. This is because they offer several potential benefits, including improved efficiency, reduced labor costs, enhanced safety, greater flexibility, environmental friendliness, reduced contact, enhanced customer experience, and data-driven insights. As technology advances and regulations evolve, robotic delivery systems are poised to play an increasingly significant role in the food delivery landscape.
With this said, Austin locals may have to get used to seeing more of these out and about in the future. Just don’t ask them who has the right of way on the streets.
