As of yesterday, Lee’s Asian Market has closed. Located at 1950 Hendersonville Rd for many years, Lee’s was often viewed by many Asheville residents as one of the best Asian supermarkets in the city. With this in mind, it may be a little surprising if you’re just hearing about its closure for the first time.

However, it’s not all bad news, and sounds like Lee’s may have actually expanded. In short, their closure will be short-lived, as they also announced that they are in the process of moving to Asiana Market. This is located at 1968 Hendersonville Rd which is not far. While the move has not yet been finalised, it is believed that the new store with open in December or early next year.

This (temporary) closure was made by signs left on their doors which were photographed and originally shown on Reddit. Here, they asked customers for patience during the move and claimed that the new location would be six times bigger than their previous venue. They also went on to say that this would mean more variety of different food types, as well as a hot bar for quick and fresh meals.

Lee’s Asian Market is a popular Asian grocery store in Asheville. It offers a wide variety of fresh produce, frozen foods, dry goods, and other groceries from China, Korea, Japan, and other Asian countries. They also have a large selection of international beers and wines.
