Boise Locals Overjoyed As Idaho’s First In-N-Out Burger Opens Today

In-N-Out burger enthusiasts in Idaho won’t have to make a trek to California to satisfy their cravings after today, but for those less enamored with the fast-food chain, it’s time to plan an alternate route.

The opening date for In-N-Out Idaho is today – December 12th, at 10:30 am. Standard operating hours for In-N-Out restaurants are from 10:30 am to 1:00 am, with extended hours until 1:30 am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Anticipating the opening-day rush and the inevitable traffic congestion, the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) has been making preparations. ACHD spokesperson Rachel Bjornestad revealed that they’ve been actively participating in planning meetings with both the restaurant and the Idaho Transportation Department.

She explained that ACHD will be responsible for signal timing, similar to preparations for major events, and can make adjustments remotely if necessary. However, she cautioned that while signal timing helps manage the flow on the road, it doesn’t eliminate congestion entirely. Much of the preparation and traffic management will be handled by the restaurant itself and The Village at Meridian.

Furthermore, ACHD is reminding the public not to block traffic by stopping in the roadway while waiting or attempting to enter the restaurant’s drive-thru line.

In addition to ACHD’s efforts, The Village at Meridian has devised a traffic plan to prevent long lines from spilling onto nearby roadways.
