Evangelist Joel Tenney Goes Ballistic Over Baphomet Display In Iowa State Capitol

In an event that split opinions, Evangelist Joe Tenney was not happy at all with whoever made the decision to allow the Satanic Temple to display a Baphomet effigy in the Iowa Capitol.

On the one hand, Tenney does live in a Christian country with the rest of us, so it makes you wonder why people would want to antagonize others by displaying demons. It seems as though this attack on Christianity is somewhat more socially acceptable than attacks on other religions.

Of course, the counterargument is that the Satanic Temple should be allowed to follow whichever religion they choose, as America is a free nation. One religion does not have a monopoly on what can and cannot be placed on display in publicly funded buildings.

Joel Tenney wrote on Facebook “This is the grossest form of idolatry I have ever seen in my state, to see this in the Iowa Capitol nonetheless! I will not stand for this! All it takes for the grossest of societal disease to spread is the indifference of good men. Why on God’s green earth is the Baphomet demon given a place in our capital? I’d like to know who approved this and get them fired immediately! Who’s gonna bail me out?”

Rather ironically, The Satanic Temple is a non-theistic religious organization. As such, they don’t recognize the existence of any god or idol such as Baphomet. It seems as though this stunt was pulled in order to show that no religious figures should be in the capitol.
