Disaster As Truck Spills Cement All Over The Road In Huntsville

December 9, 2023 by No Comments

Yesterday, a video shared on Reddit showed a cement truck stop at a red light, only for its chute to somehow open as it pulled away, spilling cement all over the road.

To make matters worse, the driver has no idea what has just happened, likely because it is difficult to see directly behind this vehicle. The video shows that this happened for at least 12 seconds, spreading the cement for hundreds of meters on Huntsville Brownsferry Road.

The drying time for a thin layer of cement, such as a thin mortar or concrete mix, can vary depending on several factors, including the thickness of the layer, temperature, humidity, and sunlight conditions. In general, thin layers of cement can dry relatively quickly when exposed to direct sunlight.

Furthermore, in warm, dry conditions, a thin layer of mortar or concrete can begin to set within 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Thankfully in this case, the cement did not get a chance to dry properly and was sprayed off the road into the nearby ditch that you can see on the right-hand side of the video.
