Throughout its tenure, Carnitas Lonja, along with its sister concept Fish Lonja, has captivated diners with its succulent carnitas, a hallmark of Michoacán cuisine, as well as its fresh seafood dishes. Chef and owner Alex Paredes’ culinary expertise earned him a James Beard Award nomination in 2020.

Earlier this year, Carnitas Lonja sought to revitalize its presence by relocating to an adjacent property next door to its original space. However, despite these efforts, the beloved restaurant has made the difficult decision to cease operations.

Carnitas Lonja will bid farewell to San Antonio on December 31st. Until then, passionate fans of the restaurant have one last chance to savor its culinary delights.
