Kristi Noem criticized after claiming to empower South Dakotans

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem was recently criticized after giving her opinion on how the government should operate. Here, she took to Twitter to claim that governments should empower the people, and that was what she was doing in South Dakota. In isolation, it would seem that all Americans would agree with this idea. However, it was the hypocrisy that people pulled her up on. It goes without saying that this could be seen as condescending to those not in favor of Noem.

On Twitter, she wrote: ‘It is not the job of government to do everything for people. The job of government is to empower people to do things for themselves. That’s the ideal that America was built on – and it’s the ideal we will continue to uphold in South Dakota.’

Replying to this, one user claimed: “It’s not the job of a governor to tell people how they should act and live, proselytizing that her way is the only way when the reality is far from the sermons. There’s an old saying about: “People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.”

Similarly, a user named Luna added: “Nobody is asking your government to everything for us. We are asking that you do something that benefits us. We don’t need to spend millions on race cars and your vanity projects when we have problems feeding children!”

Clearly, not everyone agreed with Noem and believed that actions speak louder than words.
