Popular Brewery to permanently close due to CEO’s health issues
Scarlet Lane Brewings Bellefontaine St location has announced that its last day of operation will commence on Saturday after years of serving the neighborhood. The shock announcement was made on the Facebook page of the company which garnered a strong reaction from the local community.
In a lengthy statement, they wrote: ‘Neighbors and Friends, we will rip the band-aid off now and let you know that this Saturday (12/9/2023) is our last day to operate at this location. We have had a blast being your neighbors over the last several years.
Recent developments with the health of our CEO/Head Brewer & personal matters with other owners, combined with the current struggles almost all small businesses are facing, requires that we focus our attention on personal matters and narrow our business focus. We look forward to seeing you at our McCordsville, Irvington, and Beech Grove locations moving forward.’
As seen, this referenced the ill health of the CEO as the main reason for closing, while also assuring customers that its other locations were still operational. Whether these will also be affected in the long run remains to be seen. Nonetheless, this will still come as bad news for those in the Bellefontaine St area. Over the years, Scarlet Lane has built up a number of breweries across Indianapolis.
