Andy Beshear criticized over Kentucky economy claims

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear was recently criticized regarding his comments where he boasted about the economy and labor force of his state. On his personal Twitter account, Beshear wrote: ‘Since 2019, we’ve: Secured the two best years for economic investment ever in our commonwealth. Recorded the largest budget surpluses and the biggest rainy day fund. Filled the most jobs in Kentucky’s history. And we’ve only just begun.’

While these were bold claims, it looks as though not everyone agreed with him. Here, some gave counterarguments to these claims and were less than impressed. Naturally with politics, there is always another side to the story.

Replying to this, one user named Jim claimed: “It just means that the government has absconded more money from the taxpayer than it needs. Give us refunds, and eliminate the state income tax.”

Similarly, another user named Lou quipped: “Nobody knows what “filled the most jobs” means. We have 32k fewer people employed now than when you took office.”

Based on this, it looks as though Beshear still has more work to do if he really wants to start boasting about the state of Kentucky’s economy which certainly isn’t without its faults. Until then, it looks as though he still has plenty of critics.
