Tina Kotek criticized after ‘hard work’ comments

Oregon Governor Tina Kotek was recently criticized after ‘hard work’ comments surrounding state community leaders. On her Twitter account, Kotek uploaded various images from the past year that showed her meeting various community groups. Here, she captioned these photos by writing: ‘Everywhere I’ve visited this year, I’ve met community leaders who are rolling up their sleeves and doing the hard work to make Oregon work for everyone. I’m inspired by them every day.’

Under usual circumstances, this statement may not draw too much heat from critics. However, it hasn’t been an easy year for Kotek who has undergone waves of criticism this year. This drew a number of replies with many of them bashing the governor.

Replying to this, one user said: “If you’re so inspired by them roll up your own damn sleeves and take out the damn trash!” This was written by a Portland resident who was referring to Kotek’s supposedly soft policing of crime in the city.

Another user added: “Yeah, Oregon is working so well that over 150,000 people left last year…That should inspire you to do what your constituents are asking.”

Unfortunately for Kotek, the numbers don’t lie. Sadly, it looks as though some of these photo-ops aren’t working in terms of charming the public.
