Popular Lego Store in San Francisco Centre permanently closes

December 3, 2023 by No Comments

This weekend, it seems as though the Lego store located in the San Francisco Centre mall has closed for good. This is because it is now completely empty, and a rather telling sign has been left notifying customers that it has gone. The sign in question reads: ‘Thank you – It’s been awesome! We have permanently closed as of November 30th, 2023 and we will miss all of our friends and fans. Come visit us at our nearby stores.’ The image can be seen in greater detail below.

Aside from this, no other information was given regarding the closure. However, due to the size of the Lego brand, you would assume this closure was strictly due to financial reasons. When coupled with the struggling nature of the San Francisco Centre, this also makes sense. Nonetheless, an official reason was not given.

Despite Lego being a huge brand, there has been no mention on their website of this store’s closure. Similarly, the local press has yet to reference it either. Over the past year, the mall has lost its theaters, Nordstrom, and upscale restaurants. With this said the loss of the Lego store shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. Over the years, this store offered a variety of Lego sets, clothing, and other Lego-themed memorabilia.
