Coffee Shop to permanently close after 6 years of business

Lexington, Kentucky’s beloved chocolate haven, Chocolate Holler, is bidding farewell to the city’s coffee scene, announcing its closure before the year’s end. Located at 400 Old Vine St. Suite 104, the charming establishment has been delighting patrons with its delectable chocolate creations and aromatic brews since its inception in February 2017. Chocolate Holler is due to close shortly after Christmas.

Chocolate Holler’s offerings extended beyond the ordinary, enticing customers with its signature drinkable chocolate, a concoction far removed from powdered mixes, and an array of delectable treats ranging from brownies and cookies to truffles and ice cream. The coffee shop was also known for including drip coffee, espresso drinks, hot chocolate, iced mochas, and more as part of its menu.

While the COVID-19 pandemic presented undeniable challenges, the shop’s owner, Salvador Sanchez, expressed pride in its resilience, stating, “Chocolate Holler has endured.” Unfortunately, this will not endure for much longer and will join a long list of short-lived coffee shops in Lexington.

The decision to close, as Sanchez explained, stems from a confluence of factors, but the enduring spirit of Chocolate Holler will undoubtedly remain etched in the hearts of its loyal patrons. At this point in time, it is not known what will be replacing the establishment.
