After more than a decade of serving as a beloved gathering spot for Baltimore residents, Charmington’s Cafe announced its closure, effective December 23rd. The cafe, nestled in the vibrant Miller’s Court neighborhood, will be dearly missed by the community it has nurtured for 13 years.

In a heartfelt message to its patrons, Charmington’s expressed gratitude for the unwavering support it has received over the years. “Friends of Charmington’s, we’re sharing some sad news. After 13 incredible years serving our community, it’s time to close our doors. Our final day of business is December 23rd.,” the cafe stated, highlighting its role as a hub for connection and productivity.

The decision to close was not taken lightly, as Charmington’s previously acknowledged financial challenges in October. To navigate these difficulties, the cafe opted to reduce its operating hours, emphasizing its commitment to fair compensation for its dedicated staff.

Until its final day, Charmington’s will continue to welcome patrons from 7 AM to 2 PM on weekdays and 8 AM on weekends. Catering orders will still be fulfilled, and holiday cookie tins will be available shortly.

Charmington’s closure marks the loss of a cherished community space, joining Suspended Brewing Company, which recently announced its departure from Pigtown. These closures underscore the lingering impact of the pandemic on small businesses, highlighting the need for continued support.
