New Turkish restaurant to open in Cincinnati

A culinary veteran with a quarter-century of experience is expanding their reach with a new location at Warren County’s Deerfield Towne Center near Cincinnati. Truva Turkish Kitchen will occupy the space formerly held by Maplewood Kitchen and Bar at the shopping center, situated at 5065 Deerfield Blvd. Owner Murat Karahan anticipates opening the doors by mid-January 2024.

This expansion represents a significant leap for both Karahan and Truva, with the new establishment boasting approximately 7,500 square feet, nearly double the size of their existing location on Montgomery Road in Sycamore Township.

The menu will mirror that of the original Truva, featuring lahmacun, a Turkish-style pizza on thin crust topped with ground lamb and beef, along with chopped garden vegetables. Chicken sauté, accompanied by tomatoes, onion, garlic, red and green peppers, served over rice pilaf, and lamb shish kebab, featuring marinated lamb cubes paired with low-carb vegetables and bulgur pilaf, are also among the culinary offerings. Baklava, Turkish ice cream, and other delectable treats round out the dessert menu.

Truva complements its cuisine with a full bar, where Turkish beer and wine are particularly popular choices, according to Karahan.

The Deerfield Towne Center space has remained vacant since October 31, 2022, following the closure of Maplewood, a fine-casual breakfast and lunch concept operated by Thunderdome Restaurant Group. Maplewood had occupied the site for four years.
