Bill Lee criticized over Small Business Saturday comments
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee was today criticized when announcing Small Business Saturday on his personal Twitter account. Here, he wrote: ‘Small businesses keep our economy strong & create quality jobs for Tennesseans. This #SmallBusinessSaturday, shop small to strengthen local communities across Tennessee,’ where he suggested his constituents should shop local. Despite his positivity, not everyone shared his optimism. In fact, some users turned the tables on him. As ever with politicians, some called hypocrisy when judging his comments against some of his recent policies.
Replying to this, one user claimed: “You have repeatedly betrayed our Trust @GovBillLee. You are Unworthy to Serve the People of Tennessee. You simply can not be trusted as a man or as Governor. You have lied to our families over & over. Worst Governor in TN history. RESIGN, NO CONFIDENCE @GovBillLee”
Elsewhere, another user said: “If you care that much, how about making it easier for small business owners to get good health insurance.”
As seen, it looks as though Lee’s Small Business Saturday comments didn’t go down very well with everyone. In fact, it looked to have done the opposite and hit the proverbial bee’s nest. This shows that despite his political success, there is still a contingent of critics in Tennessee.
