Popular Brewery to close after 29 years – But it also plans a re-brand

November 24, 2023 by No Comments

In an intriguing development for beer enthusiasts in the Bay Area, Santa Cruz’s Laughing Monk Brewing is merging with Faultline Brewing Company, bringing together two beloved brands under one roof. Following this merger, the Faultline Brewing name will be retired, and both Faultline locations in Scotts Valley and Sunnyvale will reopen as Laughing Monk Brewing and Gastropubs starting at the end of this month.

Faultline Brewing first opened its doors in the Hangar development in Scotts Valley in October 2022, marking the brewery’s second location and establishing a presence in Santa Cruz County. The taproom quickly gained popularity, offering a delightful selection of nine draft beers, pub-style food, and cocktails, along with beer to-go options.

Moving forward, the Scotts Valley and Sunnyvale taprooms will continue to operate with a similar ambiance and welcoming atmosphere, while incorporating some exciting menu changes. Beginning Monday, Laughing Monk beers will take center stage at both locations, alongside enduring favorites from Faultline’s repertoire. Beer enthusiasts can continue to enjoy popular Faultline brews like the Kolsch, Redwood Ale, Hefe Weizen, and Black Dragon Stout. Similarly, beloved menu items like the Roasted Portobello Sandwich, the Bacon Turkey Sando, and the Nashville Chicken Sandwich will remain on the menu. Additionally, new culinary creations, such as an ahi poke tower and a prime rib dip, will further tantalize taste buds.
