Alyeska Ski Resort to open for new season from tomorrow

According to the Alyeska website, its new season begins tomorrow. Specifically, the website claims: ‘Our target opening day is November 25, condition dependent of course. We currently have snowmaking going full force and just need cooperation from Mother Nature. We can’t wait to see everyone back on the slopes!’ It looks like Mother Nature has certainly played its part this year, as Alaska has enjoyed plenty of snow over the past few weeks. Unfortunately for some, its choice pass is no longer an option.

Nestled amidst the stunning scenery of the Chugach Mountains, just 40 miles south of Anchorage, Alyeska Resort stands as one of Alaska’s premier destinations for adventure and relaxation. The resort’s 304-room luxury hotel, first opened in 1994, has continually evolved to offer an array of world-class amenities, from fine dining at the Seven Glaciers Restaurant to the exhilarating 60-passenger tram that ascends 2,300 feet to the mountain’s peak.

In 2023, Alyeska Resort unveiled two remarkable additions that redefine the Alaskan adventure experience: the Veilbreaker Skybridges. These awe-inspiring structures, reaching 2,500 feet above the peaks of Alyeska Mountain, Mighty Mite, and Glacier Bowl, stretch an impressive 600 feet across, offering unparalleled views of the breathtaking Turnagain Arm.

For those seeking a more tranquil retreat, the resort’s 50,000-square-foot outdoor Nordic Spa, opened in 2022, provides an idyllic sanctuary. This rejuvenating haven offers a variety of saunas, steam rooms, and pools, nestled amidst the serene Alaskan wilderness, making it the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring the surrounding natural beauty. Prices for Passholders are now at $140.
