Today, the last of the remaining Turtle Tower restaurants has closed. The 501 6th Street location announced this by leaving a sign on its door yesterday which read: ‘To all our valued customers, we want to inform you that we will be permanently closed on Monday, November 20, 2023. Our last day of service will be Sunday, November 19, 2023. Thank you for your love and support throughout the years.’

This comes almost two months to the day that it closed its Tenderloin venue after more than 23 years of business. This building was owned by Turtle Tower and was sold for $1.9 million. It is possible that a similar deal was done for the 6th Street venue. At this point in time, it is not known what will replace the iconic establishment. However, based on the pattern over the past few months, it looks as though Turtle Tower has finally closed its doors for the last time. At its peak, there were a total of three Turtle Tower restaurants.

Known as one of the best Vietnamese eateries in San Francisco, Turtle Tower was known for its authentic pho and was named after a tower in Hanoi, Vietnam. The restaurant also offered other Vietnamese dishes like spring rolls, vermicelli bowls, and grilled meats.
