Costco Store to potentially open in Madison – But it won’t be for a while
Rumors have been circulating on social media for months about a new Costco store, and now it seems those rumors are becoming reality. The latest branch of the well-known membership warehouse club is set to be located behind the vegetable stand at Clift Farm on U.S. 72.
Although developers have yet to officially confirm this development, Costco has begun reaching out to potential bidders for construction-related tasks. Observers passing by the 550-acre development near Madison may have already observed significant construction activity, with a noticeable presence of heavy machinery at the site.
At this point in time, it is not known when the store would potentially open. However, due to the infancy of the project, it looks like it could be late into next year at some point.
Founded in 1983 in Seattle, Washington, and has since expanded to over 800 locations across the United States. Costco is known for its low prices, bulk quantities, and high-quality products as well as its $1 hot dogs and iconic ice cream.
Currently, the nearest Costco store for Madison residents is located at 1205 N Memorial Pkwy, Huntsville. Although this isn’t too far, it is still not as convenient as the potential Clift Farm location. In total, the state currently has four Costco outlets.
