Two new Fast Food Restaurants set to open in Houston soon

In-N-Out Burger is set to expand its presence in the Houston area with two new outlets, yet it appears unlikely that the California-originated brand will cater to residents within the Loop. Despite being in the Houston market for four years since launching its first location in Stafford, the chain remains concentrated outside Beltway 8.

Records from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation confirm the completion of both projects during the summer. Mike Abbate, In-N-Out’s Vice President, shared with Chron that the company aims to open these restaurants by late November.

The upcoming locations will be at 122 El Dorado Blvd, Webster, TX 77598, and 28320 Highway 290 Cypress, TX 77433. These additions will bring the total number of In-N-Out outlets in the Houston area to six, although none are situated within the city’s central area. The first outlet in the area was met with enthusiastic reception. The chain’s preference for suburban locations over closer city sites may be attributed to lower construction costs and untapped suburban markets. Earlier this year, Austin’s P. Terry’s Burger Stand also announced its intention to enter the Houston market, with its first location planned for Fort Bend County.

In-N-Out first ventured into Texas in May 2011, opening in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The brand has thrived in Texas, now operating over 40 locations statewide. The arrival of In-N-Out has stirred competitive sentiments among local burger enthusiasts, especially with Texas favorite Whataburger, leading to various debates and comparisons.
