The Globe Theater, a prominent venue in downtown Los Angeles, has unexpectedly called off its forthcoming events and is reportedly shutting down for good.

Wrestle Prestige, an independent wrestling promotion that regularly hosts events at the Globe, informed its followers of a venue change for its December Combat Princess show due to the theater’s abrupt and likely permanent closure.

In a similar vein, the Electroton Rave initially scheduled to take place at the Globe Theater on Friday, Nov. 17, has been relocated to The Catch One on West Pico Boulevard, as announced by the event organizers.

Attempts to access the Globe Theater’s website have since failed, with the website failing to load.

The Globe Theater, the oldest continuously operating theater in Los Angeles, recently hosted a sold-out concert by Gims, a Congolese singer. This performance, his first in the city, might have been the last event at this historic venue.

Originally named the Morosco Theater, the Globe Theater was established in 1913. It initially hosted vaudeville acts, later transitioning to film screenings. The theater, part of the Garland Building, was designed by Morgan, Walls and Morgan, notable for its distinctive Beaux-Arts style.

Following a period of disuse, the theater underwent renovations and reopened in 2015. The Globe Theater is listed in the National Historic District, as recognized by the Los Angeles Conservancy.
