Beloved Sandwich Shop to re-open next week after huge community support
The future of the popular sandwich shop in Woodbine Food Hall, initially reported to be closing, may now remain open, much to the joy of its numerous fans. In fact, it is the fans that have influenced Deadpan Sandwich to reconsider its closure.
In a recent Instagram update on Friday, Deadpan revealed its plans to continue operations. The shop is actively collaborating with its management team and Woodbine Food Hall to facilitate this. Here they wrote: ‘Wow, we have been blown away by the outpouring of love and support by you – the SLC community. After tomorrow 11/11, we will be closed next week to regroup, reset and re-stock and we will re-open fully on 11/21/23.’
This outpouring from the Salt Lake City community was mirrored by Deadpan Sandwich’s online reviews. Here, they achieved critical acclaim over the years and enjoyed stellar reviews. Hopefully it’s not just words though, and this time around the eatery is supported and begins to thrive.
Laurie Cornia, the general manager of Woodbine, located at 545 W. 700 South in Salt Lake City’s Granary District, expressed optimism on Friday regarding Deadpan’s situation. Cornia mentioned that there were no current efforts to replace Deadpan in the food hall, as there is a strong hope of addressing the concerns that initially led to the announcement of its closure.
