After what seems like an eternity, the old gas station on Haywood Road is beginning to be knocked down. This is surrounded by red cones and there is now a strip of flat land that was previously occupied by the gas station.

Naturally, this got people wondering what would replace the venue. Although it’s still early days, it looks like a bar and dog park combination will replace the gas station. This plan is still very early so it may be years away at this point due to its infancy. As seen below, a screenshot shows the plans for the location.

Interestingly, the entire permit can be found here which highlights the plans and zoning for the location. As seen, there is no name for the new venue, however it does look at keeping the original building and renovating it. Here, it claims to keep the original gas station canopy which may become a quirky, yet nice feature for a bar.

In recent times, bar-dog combinations have become increasingly popular across the US. Some of these places have separate areas for humans and dogs, while others have open layouts where dogs can roam freely while their owners enjoy a drink or a meal. It’s a unique concept that’s grown in recent years.
