Tina Kotek blasted after clean energy comments
Oregon Governor Tina Kotek was recently blasted on Twitter after making comments regarding a clean energy plan put forward by President Joe Biden. Here, she was complimentary of his new policy and promised to spend millions investing in clean energy. According to Kotek, this included new jobs in Oregon.
Here, Kotek wrote: ‘Thanks to a historic investment from @POTUS, we’re creating more clean energy jobs right here in Oregon.’ Naturally, clean energy can be a debated topic, with some people preferring alternatives such as nuclear energy. Kotek’s comments generated over 100 comments, with many of them criticizing her for supporting the new initiative.
One user named Nicholas Mousebird replied, saying: “I have a simple solution to all of it. Vote out every Democrat politician, and the climate change problem will disappear entirely.” While this may be a very blunt way of putting things, it does look as though clean energy is very much a Democrat policy which is rarely talked about by Republicans.
Elsewhere, a user named John J Collet quipped: “1. Congress appropriated the funds. 2. Why did the feds have the money to begin with? Lower federal taxes and let states raise their own taxes.”
Clearly, despite Kotek’s initial optimism, it looks as though many of her constituents weren’t best pleased with her endorsement of clean energy.
