This week, Dutch Bros, one of the rapidly expanding drive-through coffee and specialty drink chains in the nation, made its debut in the Chattanooga market with its inaugural local outlet near Northgate Mall.

Originating from Grants Pass, Oregon, Dutch Bros launched a new drive-through coffee location at 5102 Hixson Pike on Friday. Destiny Musgrave manages this new Chattanooga branch, which is constructed in front of what was once the Crazy Buffet hibachi grill. The Crazy Buffet, opened in 2018, ceased operations within a few years.

The site, previously occupied by a 10,994-square-foot restaurant building that housed Crazy Buffet and originally Ryan’s Steakhouse, is currently under renovation. It’s being transformed to expand and consolidate the offices for Hitchcock Family Medicine practice, though the buffet signage remains.

Dutch Bros offers a variety of coffee and tea drinks, such as the chocolate crunch cold brew coffee with Oreo cookie crumbles and the Palm Beach tea infused with pomegranate and peach syrups. Additionally, the chain serves drinks featuring its unique energy drink, Rebel. Customers place their orders with attendants who approach their car windows.

Joth Ricci, the CEO of Dutch Bros, in the company’s latest fiscal quarter report, highlighted the strength and unique culture of Dutch Bros, along with its potential for continued growth.

With existing locations in Oak Ridge, Maryville, and Murfreesboro in Tennessee, Dutch Bros is exploring additional sites in the Chattanooga area, as per company officials.
