Since arriving in Nashville, Hawkers has cemented its place as one of the best Asian eateries in the area. However, this week it has abruptly closed with little warning. An image posted on social media went viral which photographed a sign on their window. This sign reads: ‘We apologize for the inconvenience. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are unfortunately closed until further notice – Hawkers.’

Naturally, this got people speculating on what had happened. Furthermore, their social media pages did not reference the closure, despite remaining active. Due to the ambiguous nature of the sign, customers were unsure whether this was a short-term or permanent closure. Because of this, a curious Reddit user phoned the restaurant and somewhat surprisingly a staff member answered.

Here’s what they had to say: “I just called the store. They are closed for ‘maintenance’ until further notice but want to open at some point. Spoke to an actual employee, not a robot or recorded message.” Despite this, Hawkers couldn’t give a re-opening date but fans of the venue can now breathe easy knowing that this closure isn’t permanent.
